Odyssey Travel Project
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been reading and studying the epic poem by Homer called The Odyssey.  This poem tells of Odysseus' adventures as he travels back to Ithaca on his return from Troy. As a way of ending our study of this work, you will be creating your own odyssey
Instructions
       You will have two full days in the computer lab to work on this project.  For this project, you will be picking three foreign countries to visit. You will be in charge of picking the cities and the landmarks/sites you would like to see in those cities. Your budget for this project will be $6,000 so you will need to research travel plans and costs. Some sites you can use:

Requirements
    To obtain full points for this project, you will need to complete the following:
  • A typed list of locations (cities, landmarks, etc.) that you plan to visit (5 points)
  • A budget sheet showing that you stayed within your budget (10 points)
  • A travel brochure (in your own words) including pictures of the places you visit (30 points)
  • A check-in conference with me or Coach Hurst showing what you have finished so far (10 points)
  • A typed list of sources you used for this project (5 points)
  • Choose between either one of these: a written travel narrative detailing what you did and felt in the places you visited (minimum 5 sentences for each piece) or a visual journal of the places you visited using pictures, drawings, and captions to tell your story (minimum two pages) (30 points)
  • Short response on what you thought about your choices and the project. Minimum five sentences. (10 points)

TOTAL POINTS: 100

Incomplete assignments at the end of this project will lose points for each days it is not turned in to me.
